Who had a grand weekend at Grand Lake, OK?  This girl!
(See here for an adorable morning pic from Saturday.)

Sis and her family, Aunt Linda and Uncle Vaughn and I all headed about 1.5 hours northeast of Tulsa to Grand Lake for the weekend.  It was a nice getaway.  The first night Sis, Aunt Linda and I stayed up listening to family stories.  I'd always heard bits and pieces of my Papa's childhood, but never the whole timeline all at once.  I'm amazed Papa and his siblings made it out of childhood alive with some of their antics!

Anywho, Saturday morning we decided to venture out and see what the area had to offer.  I'd found a farmers' market listed on the lake's tourism website.  I was quite excited because I love a good farmers' market.  We pulled up to the "town hall lawn" and this is the "market" we saw.  TWO tables.  That's it.  Talk about disappointment!
For real. This is it. 2 tables does not a farmers' market make.

So, we decided to move on to the botanical gardens
where I captured these adorable pictures:
Grant DOES love his aunt...ME! Sis is pretty cute too.
Now that he knows he can walk the lil dude is unstoppable.
Aunt Linda fed the koi Grant's goldfish crackers.
It seemed a little odd but they swarmed to get them.
Later that night Chris grilled us some delicious steaks and all of the fixin's. I was so full it hurt to stand up straight.  I think I had two food babies instead of just one.  MMMMM!  It was a nice time out with family and from real life.

Unfortunately, real life called and I had to head home early on Sunday to do yard and house work.  Booooooo.  I hope you had a great weekend.

  1. I love Koi! We have a bunch in my pond at home and they are huge

    1. I couldn't believe how many of them came up when we started feeding them. There were certainly some huge ones!

  2. two tables? boo.

Feeding the fish with fish crackers is all kinds of hilarious.

    1. I know, right? Seriously. If you have two tables that's two tables, not a farmers' market. Sheesh.

I thought it was humorous too. :)
