At the end of May I taunted you all with photos of several recipes I'd been eyeing on Pinterest. At the end of the post, I committed to you to make 5 of those recipes during the month of June. Yes, me with my commitment issues committed to not one, but FIVE recipes. I did give myself a month, but still.
Tonight I had Sis and Grant over for dinner to try 2 of them out. Not only did I get some time with my adorable nephew, time with Sis, and to watch Real Housewives of NY, but I got a second opinion on the recipes. I wanted to have more than just my opinion (although mine is the most important one. Ever. Never forget this fact.)
On the menu was the Mouth Watering Garlic Cheesy Bread
from The Small Things Blog.

Since there were just two of us for dinner, I opted to use hoagie bread instead of a large baguette.

It already looked yummy and it hadn't even baked yet!
After baking them for most of the time, I opened
up the foil so the bread could brown a bit.
Also on the menu were Chicken Cordon Bleu Roll-Ups
from Cinnamon Spice & Everything Nice.

The recipe called for one thick slice of ham, but I opted to use a couple of thin slices instead and was very pleased with this choice.

The recipe also called for 1/2 cup of panko crumbs and 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs, but I found this little treasure, a box of seasoned panko! Gotta love buying one box instead of two.
Are you ready for the results? I know I was. The oven smelled delicious!
Both Items were DELICIOUS! I also jazzed up some green beans with butter, black pepper and fresh lemon juice. Bethany said they were wonderful. She's definitely adding them to her list of recipes. When I asked her if she'd like to take some leftovers for lunch tomorrow, she said, "If you're offering then YES!"
I'd say success.
Now, three more recipes to go and just a couple of weeks to get them done.

Oooh i want some!
ReplyDeleteFeel free to stop on over. I have leftovers. :)
