Although I've enjoyed everybody's Christmas in July posts this week, it doesn't have me in a Christmasy spirit.  Instead, it has me thinking about the fall and my absolute, hands down, no questions asked, all time favorite holiday of all time...HALLOWEEN!

Since Halloween was my late mother's birthday, we always did it up big in our house.  That's no different now that she's gone.  I almost feel like doing it up bigger and better is a way to honor and celebrate her.  So this year, I'm doing it up bigger and better than last year!

Here are the two posts I did last fall on my homemade
Halloween decorations on the cheap:

This year will be no different.  By starting early enough, I'll have the time to find ideas, think of ways to do them on the cheap, and make them.  So, don't freak out when you see a random Halloween craft being made and posted in August or September.

I think I'm going to go with a black and white theme this year.  Here are a few ideas I've found on Pinterest so far:

This wreath may need to be big and beautiful and
hang from the center of my big picture window.

I can't hang it from my door because
I plan to mummify my door.

I might make some of these ghosts to
hang in the trees in my front yard.

I know I'll most certainly add these to my trees this year.

I REALLY want to do this one.

And this might just have to make its way
onto a canvas just because it's adorable.

All of the above seem "makeable" in my head.  The wheels are a-turnin' so stay tuned.

You can find more of my Halloween pins here.

There you have it.  All you Christmas folks have me giddy about Halloween.  I know that wasn't your intention, but I thank you.

What is your favorite holiday to decorate?

  3. I love all of these and wish I had a house to do them at. I can still mummify my apt door though. Pretty sure no one will still that.

I can't WAIT for fall. My favorite

  4. Love this post! I'm so ready for Halloween/fall too. The mummified door is really cool and I love your mummy water bottles.

That wreath is amazing. I would hang it all year round.

Now I'm feeling the itch for a Halloween post. :)

    1. Thank you! The mummy water bottles held up so well in the cooler by using duct tape. They were a huge hit and so easy to make. So glad the Halloween spirit is spreading so early! Thanks for stopping in.
