I love embroidery for two reasons.  The first is that my late mother taught me how to embroider so I feel like I'm carrying on some of her legacy.  She used to make tea towels to give to people as gifts.  The other reason I love it is because it's like a grown up coloring book.  You get simple (and not so simple) outlines and then you get to decide what color makes it come to life.

Boy, was I a busy little beaver this weekend.  Well, not mowing or anything actually productive, but I sure did get some embroidery done!  I finished one towel I'd started months ago and then made four, count them, FOUR MORE!

I've had my eye on this birds for months.  In fact, I first mentioned them back in August of last year.

I have oodles of these patterns pinned on my Stichery board on Pinterest.  They've been living there for months so it's about time I brought some of them to life.

I was downright giddy when I finished these gems.  Are you ready for the finished products?
I'm in love!  These two are keepers.
They'll take up shelter in my very own kitchen.

Then I knew I wanted to knock out a few easier towels so I broke out the rubber duck patterns.  They make me smile every time I see them.  I was able to finish three and have two more ready to go.
Aren't they cute?!

If you like these (and there is a small handful of people like my aunt who do not so I forgive you in advance), which one do you like the best?

Stay tuned because I'll keep posting pics as I finish towels through the month and will be selecting two for my very first giveaway!

  3. I love your intro! Your grandmother sounds like mine. She had an antique clock that wouldn't work so she took it apart and put it in the oven......and it worked. LOL So nice to meet you. What a great idea for the towels.

  4. Hi Jen! Welcome to the newbie party. These are stinkin cute!~ I appreciate you joining the newbie party and I see you are getting some visitors from it as well. I would love my button or link at the end of your post so that others know about it. Most people do not look at the link ups pages and therefore the party gets lost in the universe. I would love for more new blogger s to know about it. Thank you so much!
