It's over!  July's challenge is over.  In May I did a Pinterest Challenge.  In June I did a recipe challenge.  July I decided to challenge myself to embroider as many tattooed tea towels as possible.

On a side note, I used to call them Bad Ass Tea Towels, but two people used the key phrase "ass tea" and found my blog.  That's just gross, so I changed them to Tattooed Tea Towels.  I still think they're rather bad ass though.

Anyway, the month is over and...drum roll, please...I finished..SIXTEEN!  Not too shabby at all, right?!

Here they are in all of their glory.
See, they're not all skulls and crossbones,
but I do love me a sugar skull.

So, stay tuned because I'm going to be hosting my very first giveaway in the next week or two. I'm finalizing the details shortly.  The winners will be able to choose the designs they'd like.  How awesome is that?!

Please take a moment and stop by today's very special post, I Learned from the Best (Mom's Towels). I told the story of my mom passing along embroidery to me and what it meant to me to have some of the towels she had embroidered.

PS: You all know how often I talk about my cat, Luna, being up in my business all the time.  Well, here's further proof.  I couldn't even take pictures of the towels without her laying all over them.  We had many a choice word before I gave in.  Yes, she won.

towel posts, you can find them here:

  1. The very possibility that ass tea might be a real thing has ruined my whole day. That is not bad ass.

    1. A hanky is a nose towel. I guess it would be a bum hanky? I don't even want to begin to wonder anymore about what ass tea is. Blech.

  3. What the hell kind of tea would be associated with an ass?

    1. I racked my brain at first, and then I got grossed out so I stopped. Please don't ask that question again. :)

  4. I can see why you called them Bad ass...they are! Love. What an amazing talent. And your cat? Too cute...my dog thinks she's a cat and loves to lay on folded laundry, piles of dirty clothes and the like :)

    1. Thank you! I adore sugar skulls too. I can't believe I did that many either. I try to do fairly simple patterns so I don't lose focus. That's my trick. :)
