I meant to do this post this last week, but got to having so much fun with Auntie P that I completely forgot to post.  Ooops.

Anyway, Auntie P and Uncle Dana arrived last Wednesday...hence the delay in posts from me.  What better way to welcome them than with a pot of Mom's chili.  It was a simple way of having her with us in spirit.

Mom's recipe for chili is my go to recipe.
It's easy.
It's hearty.
It's delicious!
Now, I'm sharing it with you.
You're welcome.

For real, the hardest part of this recipe is opening the cans.

1 lb ground beef (or chicken or your meat/meat substitute of choice)
1/2 small onion, diced
4 cans of beans (I used 2 cans of chili beans, 1 can dark kidney(drained), & 1 can light kidney(drained))
2 (14 oz) cans tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes
2 pouches chili seasoning

Brown hamburger and onions.
Now here's the complicated part, you add all the ingredients to the crock pot and stir them together.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.

That's it.
It's really that easy.

After dinner that night, Chris headed to work, Uncle Dana went to visit his cousins and us gals took Grant to the park down the street.
We had a blast.  Well, until Grant took one too many spins, got dizzy, stumbled and got a bloody nose....all over my shirt.  I don't do well with blood.  He's lucky he's cute.  I think he rebounded faster than we did though.  He's one cute/tough cookie.

Top night to start off their visit.
I'll fill you in on the rest of our adventures soon!

  1. Holy moly this looks so good and I bet makes the house smell amazing! I will definitely be leaving this for my in-laws! Thanks girl!
Poor guy busted his nose? We haven't done that yet, but I have a feeling that will be in our future.

  2. I can't wait to try out this recipe!
