What Baby Ava wants, Baby Ava shall have.
That's the usual Auntie motto, right?

Well, Baby Ava isn't quite here yet, but her momma, my sister, wanted a painting of a song our Grandma used to sing to us. I happened to have some spare canvases laying around so I set out to trying my hand at another painting.

I had the saying, but wanted it to be more than words.
When I miss my mom I talk to the moon.  I wanted to work a moon into the paitning.  LaDonna, my dad's wife, gave Ava a cute quilt with an owl on it for Christmas so I knew I wanted to add owls in somehow as well.

Here's what I came up with.
What do you think?
Pretty cute?
I think so.

We had a funny moment with Grant this weekend.
After his hair cut I was helping him into his car seat.
I noticed he had a pink square in his hands that he'd picked up from the floor of his mom's car.  Then he unwrapped that pink square and the laughter began.
You see, Grant had found himself some "stickers!"
You are seeing that correctly.
He had unwrapped a panty liner!
Sis learned a valuable's time to clean out her damned car!
Thanks for the laughs, little dude!

Sunday, Sis and I started tackling a big sewing project.
That was a little teaser.  You don't get more details until we're finished!
You're welcome.

Happy Monday, all.

  1. That's so funny!! If it makes your sis feel any better I cut holes in them for eyes and let my boys use them as super hero mask when they were 2 and 3 years of age. :)

  2. Your painting is so great!!
I'm going to pin that for an idea.
So cute with the little guy too.
    Have a great day,

  3. My Nana sang that song to me when I was little and now sings it to my son. What a cute idea for a painting!

    And the "stickers"? I die!
